We are so excited that our spring native garden club has begun! So far, we have watered the garden and we are journaling about our garden experiences. We are making clay flowers to decorate our garden too. Stop by and visit our garden to see the spring flowers in bloom.
The Native Plant Garden Club has had a wonderful fall season. We learned many fun facts about Illinois native plants and we learned how native plants are beneficial to birds, insects, butterflies, small mammals and the Earth. The children also participated in many stewardship opportunities. We pulled weeds, watered the plants, and put down leaf mulch in the garden beds. We also worked on making our garden more beautiful by creating mosaic stepping stones, making plant labels, and painting a garden boulder. You are welcome to visit our garden at any time. Please stop by and see all of our beautiful creations! See you in the spring!!
Fall has been an exciting time in the garden. First and second grade students participated in stewardship activities to help maintain the garden. The girls and boys watered the plants and put leaf mulch in the garden beds. Check out pictures of these special days by clicking on the gallery tab.
