    Also, February 17th is our Parent Teacher Conference Day. There is no on line registration for this conference day, nor is it required.   • Kindergarten Registration for 2012-2013

    Kindergarten Registration for the 2012-2013 school year will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd and Thursday, February 23rd from 9:00 am - 11:30 am and 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm in our South School LLC. Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st, 2012. An original birth certificate and proof of residency must be presented at the time of registration. We look forward to welcoming your family to South School!

  • SEL at South School…What’s it all about?

    At South School, we dedicate the first 15 minutes of each school day to our work with SEL. Students and teachers participate in greetings, hand shakes, role-playing and our Second Step curriculum in an effort to explore the explicit SEL skills and competencies. Here's what's happening in each of our grade levels under the umbrella of Social Emotional Learning:

    Currently at South School, classes are beginning to talk about Emotional Management, how to calm down, and identifying strong feelings, such as disappointment and frustration.   • A Friendly Reminder from Carline…

    Please kindly remember to not cut in front of families that are already in line at dismissal. We have received several phone calls about this and it proves to be very frustrating to those who are already waiting. We ask, also, that drivers refrain from turning left onto Linden from Harbor in the morning as the line has already formed and this causes congestion as well as a dangerous situation for students who are on foot. Thank you very much for your support!

  • Join us for Finding Kind…February 9th at 7pm

    Award-winning filmmakers Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson will introduce the premier North Shore screening of the award-winning documentary Finding Kind, an exploration of the effects of meanness in girls’ relationships, 7 pm Thursday, February 9, at Central School, Misner Auditorium.   • Coffee and Conversation with Dr. Linda Yonke - March 6th

    The Glencoe League of Women Voters invites area residents to, "Coffee and Conversation" with Dr. Linda Yonke, New Trier High School Superintendent. This event will be held on Tuesday, March 6 at 9:45 a.m. in Room 2 of the Glencoe Park District Takiff Center located at 999 Green Bay Road.

    Northern Suburban Special Education District’s Association of Parents and Staff presents “Beginning Your Journey: Navigating the Road of Having a Child with Special Needs” on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the New Trier Northfield Campus in Building C, Board Room C234, on the second floor, 7 Happ Road, Northfield, Illinois.

  • GJHP Presents Once Upon a Mattress

    The Glencoe Junior High Project (GJHP) is pleased to present the musical comedy Once Upon a Mattress, a satirical take on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale The Princess and the Pea.

    Friday, February 3, 2012 @ 7 p.m.

    Tickets go on sale at Central School, January 18 - February 1; Tuesday - Thursday, 11 am to 1pm. And one hour prior to each show (subject to availability).
    Tickets are $12.50 and all proceeds go to support the GJHP.

  • 2012-2013 School Year Calendar

    The Board of Education has approved the 2012-2013 school year calendar. The following is a one page listing of major events for school year 2012-2013, Calendar Highlights. Please note the two Parent/Teacher Conference Days will be held on November 8th and 9th. Conferences will also be held on the evening of November 8th. There will not be a scheduled conference day in February.

  • Required Medical Forms

    Please note the following medical record requirements for public schools. Should you have questions, please call the school office (South School: 847-835-6400, West School: 847-835-6600 and Central School: 847-835-7600).

    Illinois law requires proof of an eye examination by an optometrist or physician who provides complete eye exams be submitted as a child enters kindergarten or is new to an Illinois school. The exam must be completed within one year prior to your child beginning school. All forms must be turned in by October 15th. Download the EYE EXAM form here.
